Hours - The
library is open from 7:30 A.M. - 3:10 P.M.
2.
Library Use - You
may use the library during classes with an official school pass in your
Agenda from your respective teacher. During recesses, you may use
the library to complete assignments, read and check out books, or surf
the net. Appropriate behavior is expected at all times. Students will be
asked to leave if they cannot abide by library rules.
3.
Student Book bags - All
book bags will be deposited just inside the main door in front of the circulation
desk. Materials needed for the hour can be taken to the tables but no book
bags.
4.
Book Check-outs - All
books will be circulated by computer for a two-week period. You will be
allowed to have 2 books out at a time. Books may be renewed if there is
no request for them. Students will not use the circulation computer. Reference
books, reserved books, overnight materials, and periodicals may be checked
out during the last period of the day and are due before the first period
of the next school day.
5.
Overdue Charges -
Overdue charges will be assessed for reference books only. The charge
for overdue reference books will be 25 cents per day per book. The
maximum fine will be $5.00. Regular circulation books that are overdue
for one month will be declared lost. You will not be able to check out
materials until you take care of your obligations and clear your record.
6.
Lost or Damaged Books - You
will pay the price of the book plus a processing fee of $2.00. If the book
is later found in good condition (before the end of the school year), all
money will be refunded except the processing fees. Damaged or missing bar
codes will cost $1.00 each.
7.
Borrower ID Cards - After
paying student fees, students will be issued ID cards. You must have
these cards to check out books and to use a computer. Each card will
be stamped with a special symbol after Internet Usage Agreement forms have
been signed and returned to the school.
8.
Research Computers - These
computers will be used for research only. Playing games and accessing e-mail
during class is prohibited. Before
a student can access the internet, he or she must first have a signed internet
usage agreement.
9.
Conduct - You
will be expected to allow a media specialist to check all materials carried
from the media center. If you have food or drinks in the media center,
if you act in a disrespectful or disruptive manner, if you are destructive
to the media center materials, facility, or furniture, you are subject
to disciplinary action ranging from detention to administrative referral.
You are expected to be self disciplined and use your time in the library
to read and/or do research.
